1. FADE IN:1. EXT. CITY CENTRE - DAY
ISOBEL is shown rushing confidently through the city center
in a fast pace, bushing through the crowed on her way to
meet JAMES for their first date. She has red lipstick on
with thick eyeliner. Her hair is long and wispy in the
breeze, as she pushes her hair back she smudges her eyeliner
to her forehead. She is holding shopping bags and is wearing
a formal, colourfull outfit with a lop sided scarf around
her neck. ISOBEL walks passed a shop window, then reverses
backwards,stops to admire something, then continues walking.
It then cuts to JAMES walking at a slower pace, talking on
the phone to his dad. He is smartly dressed in a plain
suit,including a tie, and clutching a coffee. He is neatly
groomed with short hair that is neatly back .JAMES walks
passed the same shop, but carries on, although he does look
at the item he scrunches up his face.
We hear JAMES talking on the phone to his father.
JAMES
(sighing)
I really don't want to meet her
(beat) Yeah, I'm on my way now
(beat) She better be worth it.
ISOBEL has a big smile on her face as she stops near a
window and checks her outfit. She notices her the black
smudge on her forehead and tries to remove it, it gets worse
and she tires to find a wipe in her bag. She drops her bag
and everything falls out. She gets embarrassed and looks
around her, she hurries and pushes everything into her bag.
We see JAMES looking at ISOBEL and looking down at her. He
makes a horrible face and is embarrassed by her actions. He
carries on walking and puts in headphones to block out the
gasps and laughter of the people walking by ISOBEL.
ISOBEL then trips over her colourful scarf and then falls
into JAMES arms, spilling the hot coffee down him. JAMES is
angry and ISOBEL is shocked.
JAMES
(annoyed)
Oh! Shit! What the heck?!
ISOBEL
(lightly Laughs)
You split something down your shirt
Then they pull away and and look at each other, there is a
moment of awkward eye contact where the attraction between
the characters is shown. They both smooth there outfit out.Â
ISOBEL then hurries off, as JAMES is left watching her leave
with a confused expression on his face. We see ISOBEL
looking back at JAMES and smiles. He shakes his head and
stands still for a bit, before continuing walking as well.
2. 1. EXT. BENCH NEAR PARK AREA - DAY
Both characters are then shown sitting at opposite ends on a
bench. It is clear that they have both been sitting there
for a while. ISOBEL has her legs crossed and JAMES taps his
feet, waiting.
They each check the time on their phones, before JAMES calls
ISOBEL.As the phone rings, they both awkwardly look at each
other. Noticing that is was ISOBEL's phone that was ringing.
She answers the phone.
ISOBEL
Hello?
