4) WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR
YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT?
• OUR MAIN TARGET AUDIENCE WILL CONSIST OF MOSTLY MALES, AGED 16 TO 40, IN SOCIAL
CLASSES C1 TO E. THIS MEANS THAT THEY WILL MAINLY BE WHITE AND BLUE COLLAR
WORKERS AS WELL AS PEOPLE WHO DO MORE MANUAL WORK AND STUDENTS. THE TARGET
AUDIENCE WILL LIKE THINGS SUCH AS SHOOTER GAMES, GUNS AND CARS. THEY WILL ALSO
ENJOY OTHER FILMS SUCH AS 'THE OTHER GUYS', 21 JUMP STREET' AND 'TROPIC THUNDER'.
THIS FILM IS MORE LIKELY TO HAVE A MASS AUDIENCE ESPECIALLY AS IT IS A HYBRID OF TWO
VERY POPULAR GENRES. THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE THAT WILL ENJOY THIS FILM WILL LIVE IN
BIG CITIES BUT IT COULD ALSO ATTRACT SOME INTEREST FROM MORE RURAL AREAS DUE TO
WHERE IT IS SET.
5) HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR
AUDIENCE?
• OUR OPENING SEQUENCE ATTRACTS OUR TARGET AUDIENCE AS WE USED CUTS BETWEEN
OUR MAIN CHARACTERS, THE FARMERS, AND SOMEONE FROM THE GOVERNMENT WRITING
THEM A LETTER TELLING THEM THAT THE GOVERNMENT ARE COMING FOR THERE OIL. THIS
ATTRACTS OUR AUDIENCE AS THEY ARE FANS OF THE GENRE AND IT IS SIMILAR TO OTHER
FILMS OF IT’S GENRE. WE ALSO ADDED AN ASPECT OF COMEDY INTO THE LETTER FROM THE
GOVERNMENT, ‘DEAR BUMPKINS’, TO ATTRACT FANS OF OUR SECONDARY GENRE, COMEDY.
OUR TARGET AUDIENCE WILL WANT TO SEE OUR FILM AS THEY ENJOY OTHER FILMS OF THE
GENRE ACTION-COMEDY.
6) WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT
TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF
CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
• FROM MAKING THIS OPENING SEQUENCE I HAVE LEARNED MORE ABOUT SONY VEGAS LIKE
HOW TO USE GREEN SCREEN EFFECTS SUCH AS EXPLOSIONS IN MY PRODUCTION LOGO AND
BULLET SHOTS AT THE END OF THE SEQUENCE WHEN THE TITLE COMES ON SCREEN. I ALSO
LEARNED HOW TO FADE AUDIO AND VIDEO IN AND OUT AS WELL AS DELETE THE AUDIO
FROM VIDEO CLIPS TO REPLACE IT WITH DIFFERENT SOUNDS/MUSIC RATHER THAT JUST MAKE
A SEPARATE TRACK. I ALSO LEARNED THAT IT IS BETTER TO USE A TRIPOD WHEN FILMING
RATHER THAN HAND HELD SHOTS AS HAND HELD IS TOO SHAKY. THIS HELPED MY FINAL
PRODUCT AS IT MADE IT LOOK MORE PROFESSIONAL AND WELL MADE.
