Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Median and Mode
Introduction
1. My newest interest is making my school ecologically friendly. I am in charge of our Green Team, working diligently with our staff, students and community to make our school an earth friendly environment. My background is a lifetime of experience in full service restaurant management. Born and raised in the industry, I went on to do it for myself. Even then I served in a teaching capacity, designing the training manual for the restaurant chain. A funny story… I have a parrot that I have trained to call the cat.
2. I am someone who is fortunate to have a very supportive family. Who am I? I am a full time mother, wife, tutor, student and teacher with little time left over for hobbies or leisure. I have a wonderful little girl who is in second grade. She has been my willing guinea pig throughout school and my beginning a career in education. I am an animal lover who cares for a cat named Cujo and 3 stocked fish tanks. I love most kinds of music but I like modern bluegrass the best. My favorite hobby is technology; any new device or method that I can use to help my kids learn, becomes my new favorite toy. I earned a Masters in Educational Technology (at UF) and aspire for a PhD in Assistive Technology. I serve as a Star Educator for Discovery Education Network. I taught IVE (Independent Varying Exceptionalities) in a Pinellas County public schools for 3 years and am now in my fourth year teaching but now as an inclusion and pullout instructor.
3. As the student or as the teacher, I love learning. I could not have done it without my inspiration, my motivation and my sometimes guinea pig. She earned my BA as much as I did! I am Elizabeth Snider, from Madeira Beach Florida. I am having the best time getting to teach at Walsingham Elementary. What do I want to get out of this class? Knowledge into how to create instruction across the curriculum that integrates technology as a learning tool and the experience to feel comfortable teaching this method to other teachers.
