TUBELIGHT
 A fluorescent lamp or a fluorescent tube is a low
pressure mercury-vapor gas-discharge lamp that uses
fluorescence to produce visible light. An electric
current in the gas excites mercury vapor which
produces short-wave ultraviolet light that then causes
a phosphor coating on the inside of the lamp to glow.
CHARACTERISICS OF CFL
 Standard screw base that can be installed into nearly any
table lamp
 Come in a variety of sizes and shapes.
 Have a much longer life—6,000 to 20,000 hours (10 to 20
times longer) compared to 750 to 1000 hours for a standard
incandescent.
 Can replace incandescent bulbs that are roughly 3 to 4 times
their wattage, but can cost up to 10 times more than
comparable incandescent bulbs.
 Best energy-efficiency investments available. Although
they cost more, they are very economical in the long run.
FAN
 Fans and blowers are used to move air from one area
to another, to provide or to remove cold, hot, dry or
damp air. Applications are many and varied but the
prime purpose is to move a mass of air.
 Fans can be categorized into four main types defined
by the method of air movement they employ.
1. Axial Fans
2. Centrifugal (Radial) Fans
3. Mixed Flow Fans
4. Cross Flow Fans
Fans range in size from 36 inches to 56 inches using 55 to 100 watts, a typical 48
inch ceiling fan will use 75 watts.
MOTOR
An electric motor is an electrical machine that
converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.
The reverse of this would be the conversion of
mechanical energy into electrical energy and is done
by an electric generator
How does an electric motor
work?
A simple electric motor can be built using a coil of
wire that is free to rotate between two opposite
magnetic poles. When an electric current flows
through the coil, the coil experiences a force and
moves.
Use Of Motor
In various purpose motors are used like
Fans, blowers, pumps, household appliance etc.
Refrigerator
An refrigerator is machine
which is artificially kept
cool and used to store food
and drink. Refrigerator is
generally used for cooling
effect.
How it is work?
In the refrigeration cycle, there are five basic components like fluid refrigerant, a
compressor which controls the flow of refrigerant, the condenser coil.
1. The compressor constricts the refrigerant vapor, raising its pressure, and
pushes it into the coils on the outside of the refrigerator.
2. When the hot gas in the coils meets the cooler air temperature of the
kitchen, it becomes a liquid.
3. Now in liquid form at high pressure, the refrigerant cools down as it flows
into the coils inside the freezer and the fridge.
4. The refrigerant absorbs the heat inside the fridge, cooling down the air.
5. Last, the refrigerant evaporates to a gas, then flows back to the compressor,
where the cycle starts all over.
