In 1995, David Gonzales was operated a chain of popular hair salons. He found that qualified stylists who could
meet the needs of modern salon customers was lacking in the area of Springfield Missouri. David Gonzales was
especially interested in two areas of expertise: The styles had to be well-trained at coloring hair and applying
other higher-priced chemical services and two they had to be the best stylists at cutting hair. He set out to start a
school that would teach the techniques that to ensure success in today’s salons. The Academy of Hair Design
was founded 1996.
