Convergent Journalism Imperatives The imperatives we have discovered in our research are: Work effectively across multiple media platforms. Skills in multi-platform media dissemination. Skills in electronic, print and broadcast presentation. Comfortable with audio, video and print reporting. Technical skills for story presentation. Students must be curious and tenacious. Entrepreneurs with business skills. Adept in freelance businesses of writing, photography, blogging and web design. Skills at gathering and analyzing information. Mastery in the mechanics of writing. Ability to tell all sides of a story. “ Backpack” journalists, complete journalists, who can write, report, photograph, capture sound and video on site and then disseminate it all through the Internet.
