Topics include fundamentals of life-cycle analysis, energy conservation as the foundation of green building, energy & resource efficient design details, the fundamentals of building envelope design, more environmentally-friendly alternatives to conventional building materials, water conservation and design for durability. The discussion will also cover the basics of project planning, green building economics, including rebate & incentive programs, and maintaining indoor air quality during the construction process. Time permitting, there will be a brief discussion of construction waste management and Universal Design.
