makers and practitioners in ASEAN countries: Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, and United
Kingdom. The Philippines has the highest number of delegation primarily headed by Miriam
College under the representation of Entrepreneurship Educators Association of the Philippines
or ENEDA.

1.Provided a platform of both academic and practitioners’ presentations on issues, concerns,

Achievements and Gains:
2. Opened the opportunity for ASEAN academic community to share current issues, concerns, trends
and researches undertaken for presentation and publication .
Gains: Specifically, AEC screened, reviewed and evaluated a total of 95 submitted abstracts; of
which 72 were selected and submitted their full papers and qualified for parallel session presentations.
Of these 72 ; 7 were selected for launching of the maiden issue of AEC Journal, with ISSN 2289-2125
Volume 1 Number 1 December 2012. The work from the Philippines Bottom-up Development
Approach for a Lifelong Entrepreneurship Education in the Philippines: by Gatchallan, Lopez,
Ibanez and Serrano of Miriam College was chosen among the top 7.
The AEC Journal is Published bi-annually ; the AEC provides an international forum for the exploration
and dissemination of ideas and experiences relating to the development and application of
entrepreneurship. The AEC selection criteria for the journal takes an interdisciplinary approach, drawing
on the highest – quality work in business and management as well as in social science.

3. Paved the path for more opportunities in the academic community , private sectors, and like-minded
institutions to network and share ideas and concerns as well as visions to improve each other (agency
programs as well as individual/professional progress) ; through the launching of the ASEAN

Achievements and Gains:
Gains: The Philippines, as represented by Miriam College had initial exploratory talks with Dr. Joana
Jill of University of Cambridge – Judge Business School … on twinning program etc….
The Philippines as represented by Miriam College in this aspect will have exploratory talks on twining
ME with MC E-program for Southeast Asia and perhaps in collaboration with other programs with the
Philippine agencies and institutions like ENEDA for faculty development and Idea Space
4. In particular, the academic community validated the similarities of their concerns and issues in managing
and implementing entrepreneurship courses like: barriers to teaching bounded by tradition, policies; and
the need for acquiring the “entrepreneurial mindset” both for the administration and the faculty. Thus,
raised the level of regard and consideration to treat the “course or program” with an increased vigor to
embrace the dynamics of the teaching and learning entrepreneurship.

ASEAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION CONSORTIUM (AEEC)
The ASEAN Entrepreneurship Education (AEEC) is a consortium of ASEAN universities and strategic partners in
promoting and improving entrepreneurship education in the ASEAN region.
The mission of AEEC is to
a. Build and develop networking and collaboration amongst ASEAN academic institutions towards
outstanding entrepreneurship education in ASEAN region ;
b. Advance the principles and practices of entrepreneurship within academic institutions;
c. Provide a framework for collaboration for member institutions to best entrepreneurship education for
ASEAN
AEEC mission is to be accomplished through:
a. Promoting and supporting academic leaders, faculty, and students to advance entrepreneurship
education;
b. Disseminating and sharing of information and knowledge on entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship
education;
c. Jointly organize Annual ASEAN Entrepreneurship Conference among members to promote new ideas
and share with the members of consortium
As an organization, AEEC and its members are committed to sharing information and ideas, meeting challenges
together in a process grounded by the values of integrative entrepreneurship education. supporting member
institutions and providing a national/ regional voice for the advancement of entrepreneurship education. It
recognizes the opportunity to affect the direction, assumptions and outcomes of entrepreneurship. The
involvement of strong academic institutions and their representatives allows a forum to build a stronger
commitment to the values of integrative and better approach of entrepreneurship education. Such networking
strategy allows sharing, exchange of ideas, practices and experience as everyone learns from each other.

ASEAN ENTREPRENEURSHIP JOURNAL (AEJ)
ASEAN Entrepreneurship Journal is a forum for the publication of original research. Articles and discussion of
issues that focuses on entrepreneurship in ASEAN such as entrepreneurship education, training and
development, SME and corporate entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, international entrepreneurship ,
entrepreneurial mindset, entrepreneurial management and related matters. AEJ has an international perspective
on entrepreneurship and publishes conceptual and empirical papers which bring together issues of interest to
academic researches and educators, policy makers and practitioners worldwide especially in ASEAN region.
