Prepared by Adventure Media
ECHO River Trips will celebrate its 40th anniversary of running outfitted river trips during the 2012 season. ECHO and its sister company Northwest Rafting Company specialize in multiday river trips on Oregon’s Rogue River and Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon River, as well as international river expeditions in Turkey, Patagonia, Siberia, Bhutan, and beyond. 3. Family River Trips
ECHO is proud to provide families and friends
with legendary vacation experiences. They
believe that river trips should be more than just
shuttling people down a river. ECHO provides a
unique, natural setting for social gatherings that
engage adults and kids in a memorable
adventure. An ECHO trip will become a
cherished memory by all involved and many
past guests are now bringing their own children
on a river trip, having shared the experience
with their parents. Over ECHO’s 40 year history
the Rogue and the Middle Fork of the Salmon
have been consistent favorites of kids, parents,
and guides alike.
4. Oregon’s Rogue River
Located in Southern Oregon, the Rogue River has struck
a cord in the hearts of many river lovers. Its pristine,
emerald forests are home to many native birds and
mammal, and the water is warm enough for swimming
throughout the summer. A rich history of Native
Americans, miners, pioneers and even Hollywood
celebrities provide an interesting backdrop to the journey.
ECHO trips travel through the federally protected Wild
and Scenic section, which has been protected from
development since 1968. This 40 mile section boasts
some of the most exciting rapids and beautiful scenery
found on the Rogue. ECHO’s Rogue River trips run from
May to September and last between three and five days.
5. Middle Fork of the Salmon River, Idaho
A trip down Idaho’s Middle Fork of the Salmon River is a
favorite for rafting enthusiasts and newcomers from around
the world. This free-flowing river winds through 100 miles of
the largest wilderness area in the contiguous United States
and flows through the third deepest canyon in America. The
lack of roads, buildings and development provides a true
wilderness experience for guests, complete with superb fly-
fishing and wildlife viewing opportunities, natural hot
springs, scenic waterfalls, and exhilarating Class II-IV
rapids. Those that have accompanied ECHO on the five day
trip down this river come away with a sense of awe and
wonder that comes from experiencing one of the most
beautiful rivers on the planet.
