This is a brief presentation on the CNG-Portal Sync interface to AdvisorVault. Cabinet NG and Advisor Products worked together to create this interface to make sharing documents from CNG-SAFE to AdvisorVault easy and secure.
Key points on this slide are the bullets. Also – FYI this is an example of two products using their API’s to integrate.
CNG-Portal Sync is a desktop utility. It requires a CNG-SAFE user login. If you are logged in to CNG-SAFE and open Portal Sync, you won’t have to login. Portal Sync is built to connect from a cabinet to Advisor Vault. This is configured in the Setup – upper right button. Navigate to the client folder in Portal Sync. When you select a folder, documents will be displayed on the right. Select document(s) to be uploaded to AdvisorVault. Click on the ‘Sync Selected Documents’ button – upper left.
If you have already uploaded documents for this client, you will not get this pop-up dialog. If this is the first time you have uploaded for this client from Portal Sync, you will get the ‘Confirm Account Data’ dialog. Notice – we merge selected folder index values from CNG-SAFE – First Name, Last Name and Account No. – to create the Advisor Vault ‘Client ID’. This will be used as the folder name for that client’s documents in Advisor Vault. This dialog also helps you make sure you have an email address for this client. You will see how AdvisorVault uses the email to help the client get to their documents. Once you click ‘Save’, the selected documents will be uploaded and you won’t see this dialog the next time you upload documents for this client.
AdvisorVault automatically sends the client an email instructing them that an account has been created for them, along with a link to their vault and temporary User Name and Password.
The user logs in securely.
And will see their documents. Documents in the vault will have the same name as in SAFE.
FYI – AdvisorVault has additional features that help the advisor collaborate with clients and professionals.
For example, there are several action events that would occur during the usage of the Advisor Vault(e.g. vault creations, document uploads, password resets etc.). For each of these events you can setup a template email which would be triggered at the time of the occurrence of the events. You can use templates which are provided by us or create your own for each of the events.
AdvisorVault also extends the collaboration opportunity to professionals. So the advisor can set up a professional and give them access to their clients’ documents as needed. This is typically used by CPA’s.
This is a feature that has not been released yet – it is currently in Beta (as of 9-7-11). Will give the advisor a desktop view of the Vault. Tested with CNG-SAFE and allows the SAFE user to drag and drop directly into the vault. This is an optional way to file documents. If the advisor already has client folders set up in AdvisorVault and they do not want Portal Sync creating new folders (duplicates of existing), this is a direct way to file from SAFE to AdvisorVault. (Use alt key to drag and drop from a SAFE folder)
