1. The Miller´s Tale
John, elderly carpenter. He was very jealous because she was
very Young and Nicholas and Absolon loved his wife. Absolon
gave Alison good gifts, but Nicholas was poor and he couldn´t
give her presents.
Nicholas told John about a great flood and told him he must hang
barrels to float in the floodwater like Noah.
He made three wooden barrels. At night Alison, John and
Nicholas climbed into their barrels and waited.
John was very tired and he felt slept. Nicholas was alone!
Absolon climbed to speak to Alison. She tried to send him away,
but he begged her a kiss.
Alison said yes, but she put her bottom out of the window for
Absolon to kiss it instead of her lips!
Then Absolon heard her and Nicholas laughing.
Absolon returned with a red-hot iron. He then asked Alison for
one last kiss.
This time, Nicholas stuck his bottom out of the window and
Absolon branded the bottom of Nicholas!
He fell down to the floor and broke his arm. Alison and Nicholas
said he was mad.
