These are my quantitative data results related with my target audience. I had used Question pro to gather information about my target audience. I then presented my results on to a slide share where i had to explain in depth my chose to create my final pages for my R&B music magazine. Overall i had come up with a conclusion where i made my final chose as to what i would be including into my magazine fitted for my target audience. I created a blog called www.alishahcf.blogspot.com where i have explained in detail the process of making my magazine and how i found my research differently.

2. what gender they
were. This would break it
down for me as I would focus
on each gender and see how
common something would be
with in that gender.
8 boys had done my questionnaire
and 12 girls have done my
questionnaires. I believe that if I get 4
more boys to do my questionnaire I
will get 12 of each and therefore I
can make it more reliable.

3. I want to aim my magazine at 16-18 year olds. This age range will be appropriate because
on my graph it shows that mostly 16-18 year olds did my questionnaire therefore it will be
easier to access what their interests, hobbies, colour and favourite artist was. This would
help me as I would be able to know who my target audience aspire to be like and It would
also help me as I would realise what I need to add to fit that particular demographic. As
they will have different needs and wants then other target audience. Therefore I would
know what I need to add in my magazine enabling my target audience to be happy.

4. Finding out my audience’s parents occupation will give me an idea of how much they can afford to
pay for a magazine. Some occupations such as cab driver and teacher may suggest to me that my
audience may not afford very expensive magazines whereas occupations such as an IT consultant
which comes under other in the graph and doctor may suggest to me that my audience will be able to
afford a much more expensive magazine. By allowing myself to know what their parents occupations it
will help me as I will now what ABC1 demographic I will aiming.

5. This graphic shows different classes and what jobs parents have, enabling them to fit in their
demographic. For my graph in the previous slide many of my Audience had chosen other as their
parents occupations. This would probably fit into the C1 social grade which means that they would be
in the lower middle class. Overall by having an idea of my demographic I would be able to set a price
appropriate for my target audience.
6. However I wanted to make sure therefore I asked a simple question as to which artists
they had preferred. I told them to choose their top 3. so that I would know if they like
artists from around the same genre or different. Most of my audience said that they like
drake, Katy Perry and some clicked on other and wrote artists like rihanna, ed sheeran
and Chris brown. These are all from either hip hop or R&B genre. This helped as it would
allow me to make my final decision in choosing what genre my music magazine would
be and it would also allow me to choose artists which my audience are familiar with as
they can be part of the feature stories on the front page.

As shown on the graph more of my audience preferred the
genre R&B. This means that if I do R&B I would get more people
into buying my magazine. However the second most popular
genre was rap and hip hop. This makes me want to combine
these 3 genres and use it into my magazines as it wont be based
around one whole genre however it will be around the genre
that my audience like best.
8. Asking what social
media my audience use
was a very help full
question, because I can
now use the most
common social media
on my front cover so
that I can create the use
of synergy and
audience
fragmentation. This will
promote my magazine
and help me get more
audience into buying
my magazine.

10. When I did my research I found that many of my audience had chosen blue as their
top 3 favourite colour, black as their second and red as their 3. Although my
audience like the colour blue I don't think it would be a appropriate colour for a R&B
magazine because it would fit into the genre classic as the colour connotates
calmness. Therefore I would go for red, black and gold as these colours convey
success. The reason I went with colour red is because most R&B music is based around
love and red is a colour which connotates love whereas the colour gold and black
connotates success and classy.

Boys usually go for animals that like to take control and be the leader such as tigers lions
and cheetahs whereas girls like animals that are more social such as dogs, seals ect. On
my graph it shows that 5 people liked lions this may mean that I have to create a
magazine is for people who like music and are not much into gossip and news ect.
However I can take dogs and cats which are sociable animals and create a magazine
which contains gossip, interviews and news. This will help my magazine as I am creating
a magazine for females who prefer animals that are sociable therefore like gossip, news
and inspirational stories.

Lastly my music magazine does not have to just
contain everything about music it can have other
topics inside the magazine. I had asked my audience
what their favourite hobbies were. I had asked this as I
can link some of the following into my magazine so
that they can be interested.
for example I have
competitions on
dancing where my
audience may be
interested in and
buy the magazine
to get more
information about.
I can also have
articles at the back
that people have
submitted if there
hobbies are to
reading and
writing.
I can also create a page
using social media
where people can
upload themselves
singing if they want to.
13. 1. I will aim my music magazine at boys and girls at the age
of 16-20.
2. I will create a R&B and hip hop music magazine
3. I will use the colours red black and gold as they convey
the genre.
4. I would use social media such as facebook, instagram
and twitter to promote the use of synergy.
5. I will make sure that my cover stories are about artists
that my audience like such as Drake who was a popular
one and Katy Perry who was second best.
