The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) seeks 1-3 volunteers or interns wanting to work in the following areas.
About ARM: The Alliance for Responsible Mining (ARM) is a global network iniciative established in 2004. We work for
the sustainable development of Artisanal and Small-scale Mining (ASM) and have a worldwide network
of experts and partnerships. Our vision is for ASM to become a formalized activity that is socially and
environmentally responsible and increases its contribution to the generation of decent work, local
development, poverty reduction and social peace in our nations. Our three main strategic areas of work
are Standard Setting, Producer Support and Advocacy and Communications.
Period: Minimum 3 months
Starting date: ASAP
Position type: Unpaid internships
Skills:
• Fluency in English, good knowledge of Spanish a plus
• Internet skills. Familiarity with search engines, CMS systems and social media
• Experience conducting research
• Knowledge of fundraising, marketing and communications techniques preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Great communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills
• Self-Motivated with attention to detail
FUNDRAISING INTERN PROFILE
We are looking for someone who will be interested in working as a fundraising intern, this is a great opportunity for
someone who wants to gain experience in the Not for Profit or International Development sectors in developing countries.
Duties:
• Research for potential new donors and identify and apply for new funding opportunities – nationally
and internationally.
• Compile and maintain a database of diversified donor organizations (international foundations,
private foundations, development agencies).
• Identify and build a database of websites that offers online resources to support searching for
grants from foundations.

2. • Assist with preparing grant proposal packages according to donor guidelines.
• Researching and creating a portfolio of prospective grants.
• Help develop and execute strategy for crowd funding and internet based fundraising tools.
COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING INTERN PROFILE
We are looking for someone who will be interested in working as a communications and marketing intern, this a great
opportunity for someone who wants to gain experience in the Not for Profit or International Development sectors in
developing countries.
Duties:
• Develop new ideas and strategies for developing the communications areas of ARM, and ensure
constant renovation.
• Design and build the Volunteer section for the new webpage.
• Translate texts between English and Spanish (if language level allows it).
• General maintenance of webpages and Social Media: Upload news, documents and other
materials.
• Prepare materials and presentations.
• General support in the area of communications to the staff members of ARM – ex. Preparation
of materials for events.
• Assist in developing and executing a marketing strategy for ARM products such as Fairtrade and
Fairmined Gold and the Training and Advisory center.
