TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: LETTER OF COMMENDATION – Ms AMANDA BRINKMANN
By way of information, PEI is a South African Pharmacy Council accredited private provider of Continuing
Medical Education. Founded in June 2000, PEI’s first CME program was launched in 2002 with the objective
of improving clinical governance and outcomes in the management of patients with chronic diseases of
Lifestyle. In 2012 we have three courses that target these objectives. Over the past 10 years these courses,
which are also accredited by the HPCSA for a combined total of 120 Medical CME points, have been
attended by more than 900 health practitioners, including doctors, nurses and pharmacists. As such the
courses have shown to deliver practical clinical skills.
In the course of PEI’s business history we have dealt with a variety of professional Societies, Organizations
and Health Administrators in both the Public and Private Healthcare sectors. Of all the individuals we have
encountered on this road, none that we have met have left us with a more lasting impression or have
matched the intrinsic qualities possessed by Ms. Brinkmann.
In the course of our business dealings with Ms Brinkmann I can unequivocally state that she is a highly
talented and competent individual who has the rare capacity to really think out of the box. Not only is she
is a visionary for the greater good of healthcare delivery in South Africa, she has the practical skills,
personal drive and the ability and farsightedness to deliver the goods. Ms Brinkmann is an individual
blessed with an insight of the practical realities of any problem she faces and how to overcome the
problem using existing resources. This quality is often lacking in those of higher rank or authority, some of
whom would undoubtedly be threatened by this quality in her. She looks at practical ways of achieving
better healthcare management with the existing resources by using these resources more effectively and
cost effectively. I found her knowledge and practical experience of the personal, political and economic
complexities that bedevil our healthcare delivery of quite exceptional quality – notwithstanding the fact
that Ms Brinkmann does not come from a medical background.
Ms Brinkmann has an extraordinary capacity for work. She is an achiever and a go-getter who is able to
deliver and consequently an asset difficult to replace in whichever commercial enterprise she is engaged.
Yours sincerely
