2. Claude Monet’s style
He likes painting water. What colour is water
actually? One moment its blue, the next its
white. His paintings are really just blobs of paint,
but when you are a metre or so from the actual
painting , they look normal again!

3. Impression -sunrise

The art critics started calling Monet an Impressionest.They
didn’t mean it as a compliment. They thought paintings
should be precise and carefully done. They should also
be a little gray and dark too. Monet did many sunrises
with different colours.

5. Water lilies
His water lilies is what he's most known for.
Monet put in a pond for his garden so he could
paint water , water lilies and the Japanese
bridge that stood above the pond.

6. Japanese bridge
Monet painted many different paintings of this
bridge, with different colours and painting
different sides of the bridge too.
Monet grew older and older and his eyesight was
getting worse , he kept on painting the bridge
until he couldn’t see at all.

7. Other Japanese bridges
The first bridge below was painted around
1899, the second bridge was painted in
1919 when Monet's sight began to fail,
while the third painting was in 1923 when
he could barely see.

9. Monet’s home
Monet was born in Paris, November 14th 1840 and
died 1926.Monet was baptized in Notre dame de
corette, the local parish church. He was baptized
as Oscar-Claude Monet, but his parents simply
called him Oscar. Monet was the second son of
eight.
