‘Specialized in First Year Engineering Subjects’
DEGREE/DIPLOMA
“Let’s bring out the best in you.”
By
Amit Chawla
What really is Engineering?
• It is a profession which involves using/
exploiting technology in the least expensive
manner so as to build/ create useful things.
• Mechanical: Machines, Objects, etc.
• Civil: Buildings, Bridges, Roads, Dams, etc.
• Electrical: Power stations, Circuits etc.
• Electronics: Mobiles, Internet, etc.
• Computer: Chips, OSs, etc.
• IT: Programs, Apps, Websites, etc.
Engineer and his job?
• To achieve the desired result using existing
technologies. (Requires Knowledge)
• To achieve it again more economically.
(Requires Knowledge and Creativity)
• To make it more versatile. (Requires Creativity)
Are Engineers inventors?
• Only those working in ‘Research &
Development’ are -a kind of- inventors.
• Rest are just “Oompah-Loompahs of science”,
as phrased by Sheldon Cooper in TBBT
• *If you want to be an inventor, go for a pure
science degree.
So why Engineering?
• Engineering field has bloomed in the last few
decades.
• Produced more jobs than any other field.
• Newer and newer technologies are introduced
every year.
• One engineer can not deal with multiple
technologies at once. Hence, the requirement
of many.
Is there a job Guaranteed after
Engineering?
• No.
• Many jobs don’t mean 100% placement.
• Placement/ recruitment depends on many
personal factors.
What “Personal Factors”?
• Sound knowledge of the subjects in your
curriculum.
• Higher grades do not mean good knowledge.
• Don’t just know ‘what works’ know ‘how it
works.’
• Mastering any one subject is not enough.
• Confidence in what you know.
• Communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills.
In short….
• Knowledge
• Confidence
• Communication skills
– All three together Guarantee a job after
Engineering.
How ETAMAX helps?
• At ETAMAX we not only teach from the point
of view of covering syllabus.
• We teach in a way such that you understand
the ‘whats’ and the ‘hows’ of the subject.
• Enhancing your knowledge and ultimately
enhancing your confidence in your
knowledge.
What about communication skills?
• Anyone can become a good communicator.
• Good English does not mean good
communication skills.
• Good communication skills is ‘getting your
message delivered clearly and effectively’.
• It can be developed only by practice.
• CS subject in the syllabus. Do not take it lightly.
• At ETAMAX we encourage students to
communicate effectively throughout the course
even if the student is studying a technical subject.
First Year?
• To have solid knowledge about a subject you have to
have a solid knowledge about the base of the subject.
• It is important to strengthen your basic concepts of the
subject.
• They have roots in the ‘first year subjects’ like
Mechanics, BEE, ED and SPA.
• Should Not Be Taken Lightly.
• Hence, ETAMAX focuses more on first year subjects.
• Specialized in First Year Engineering Subjects
