1. Problem Statement: Glow an LED in Proteus.
1. Open Proteus ISIS.
2. Go to Pick From Library to add new component. (Make sure you are either in Selection Mode or
Component Mode)

2. 3. Type in Keyword or Component Name and select proper component from the available list.Type in
Animated LED if you want to see the colors in simulation (See the description of Component).
4. Click OK and place the component on the schematics by just Left clicking on the screen.

3. 5. To add series resistance of value 220 Ohm. Again Go to Pick from Library and type in Resistor in the
search bar. Select the resistance. Dont worry about the value of resistance, it can be varied afterwards.
6. Place the resistance near LED by left clicking on the screen.

4. 7. Power supplies-Go to Terminals Mode. You will have by default 5 Volts and 0 Volts available.Seclect
according to your needs.
8. Place POWER terminal near Anode of LED (To avoid clutter due to wires)
Click on [=] Terminals

GROUND for 0 volts.

5. 9.Place GROUND Terminal
10. Make the connection. (Forward biasing the LED)

6. 11. To change the value of resistance. Just hover over resistance till you see a red rectangle outline as
showed. Then double click on the symbol to open its properties Or right click on resistance and click Edit

12. Type in the required value in Resistance (OHMS) and click OK.

7. 13. To run simulation click on Play Button at the Left Bottom of screen.
