The ADuM3190/4190 are new linear isolators from Analog Devices that provide isolated error amplification for primary side control of power supplies. Compared to existing solutions using optocouplers and shunt regulators, the ADuM3190/4190 offer 10x wider bandwidth, 65% lower power consumption, 25% smaller size, and extended operating temperature up to 125°C while reducing cost by up to 25%. The ADuM3190/4190 enable power supply designs to achieve the high performance of secondary side control with the low cost benefits of primary side control.
