Hyperglycaemia

Hypoglycaemia, a state of low blood sugar, usually affects infants and the elderly more severely. However, it
can influence people of any age group in case of diabetes. Clinically, diabetic hypoglycaemia is characterised by
the blood glucose levels below 70mg/dl and symptoms become more visible at blood glucose below 60 mg/dl.
Blood glucose level below 50 mg/dl is dangerous as it can damage the functioning of the brain.
Symptoms
• Trembling
• Heart palpitations
• Sweating and sticky skin
• Anxiety
• Hunger pangs
