                            Our once successful teaching practices prove to be useless when facing the
  Help!! How do I teach     challenges of teaching the new generation of adult learners.
the Y-generation student?   It is not enough to master your language and be acquainted with all the course
                            books in the market. To teach a Y-student you need to reinvent yourself!
                            In this workshop, we will dig into the characteristics of the Y-generation
                            students and explore different approaches to motivate and involve them.

GONZÁLEZ MILBRANDT


                            María Belén González Milbrandt is a graduate teacher from IES Olga Cossettini
                            (Rosario). She is a Marketing Analyst and is about to obtain a degree in Educational
                            Sciences at UCA. She is co-founder of Move Up – Educational Consultancy and

                            organizing and supervising tailor-made courses for multinational companies. María
                            Belén has given several lectures on teaching Business English in different ELT events. She
                            has been training teachers as part of the FTBE (First Certificate for Teachers of Business
                            English) course for ten years.

                            Carolina Marcote and Luciana Lago are both Teachers of English and are finishing their
                            studies to become Technical and Literary Translators. They are certified as Teachers of
                            Business English by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry. They have been

                            teaching business English for many years, with experience in a wide range of companies,
                            in-company and in-house, groups and one-to-one. They joined the staff of teachers of
                            Move Up from the very beginning and have been working as teacher trainers for two years
                            (FTBE).
                            Carolina is currently in charge of workshops dealing with the basic Business English
                            Skills. Luciana teaches Business English at tertiary level (first and second year) in the
                            career of Foreign Trade at CES (Centro de Estudios Superiores).

                              There is a big difference between knowing what to do and doing it, and doing it

                              Alejandra Mercedes Jorge is an English Teacher and a Scientific, Technical and Literary
                              Translator, from the IES en Lenguas Vivas “J. R. Fernández”, where she teaches
                              Traducción Técnico-Científica I. She is a Licenciada en Enseñanza de inglés from CAECE
      2:00 PM                 University and holds a University Diploma in Design, Management, and Evaluation of
                              E-learning projects from San Martín University. Alejandra has taught English for more
                              than 20 years, and has acted as coordinator, teacher trainer, staff recruiter and language
                              consultant for private companies and educational institutions for more than 20 years.
                              She is a former APIBA SIGs Liaison Officer. She has lectured extensively on the teaching
                              of business English and on TICs for teachers of English. She is the owner and director of
                              CAIT Idiomas, an organization devoted to in-company language training and to help
                              teachers develop professionally.

                              Gustavo González is a graduate teacher from I.S.F.D. N° 5 in Pergamino and holds a
                              Postgraduate Degree for Faculty EFL Teachers from U.B.A. (University of Buenos Aires).
                              He has been in the ELT field since 1993, working as a teacher, school coordinator, teacher
                              trainer and presenter. He has been delivering seminars and workshops all over Argentina,

                              neighboring countries and overseas, sharing ideas about Methodology, American
                              English, the use of songs, movies and internet material in the classroom, how to develop
                              critical thinking skills, how to make our lessons memorable, how to deal with Business
                              English through humor, songs and films, how to exploit sitcoms for educational purposes
                              and how to incorporate new technologies in the classroom. He is one of the contributors
                              to the book “Imagination, Cognition & Language Acquisition: A Unified Approach to
                              Theory and Practice”, published by the New Jersey City University and has also written
                              some articles for IATEFL and other institutions. He is a teacher trainer for the Oxford
                              Teachers’ Academy. He is a former vice president of APIBA, the Buenos Aires English
                              Teachers’ Association and former vice president of FAAPI, the Argentine Federation of
                              English Teachers’ Associations.
