9. Consequences Each rule has a separate consequence/ punishment. Consequences will be given immediately following the rule infraction. No exceptions to the rule unless completely necessary. Hierarchy of consequences. The severity of the rule = the severity of the consequence. Write up a student only if sever behavior distraction continues. If threatening or persistent, send the student to the office.
10. Contact with Parents and Guardians First day of class: Provide index card to each student to bring home. Have the parents or guardians fill out the card with students name, parents or guardians names, email address and phone numbers Also any food allergies, and illness or behavioral problems that I need to be aware of. Consider it an easy quiz grade!
11. Contact with Parents and Guardians Email each students parents or guardians letting them know who I am and what is expected of their child in the classroom. Will also keep them updated with any upcoming projects, assignments, and exams. Parents can be used as motivation to do school work at home.
12. Individual Behavioral Issues Love and Logic’s “I noticed” technique. Makes students aware that they are being monitored and are being noticed for not only the bad things but the good things they do. Promotes self discipline and good behavior
13. The Special Population of Students Every student will be treated fairly and equally in the classroom. They will be given any individual attention they need to succeed. Do not make them feel different. They are apart of the community.
14. Motivation = Good Behavior The knowledge of a consequence can be motivation. Possible party or movie days if students turn in homework within the first few minutes of class. Sitting in chairs once the bell rings, class participation during review games. No reward or punishment for grades unless it is majority that did not do well

Instruction Lesson Planning: Plan the classroom activities according to the assigned curriculum Will never simply lecture for an entire class period, always include the students in some sort of activity. Group activities, reading along, helping give examples, role play, guess what may happen, random interesting fact sheets about the lesson Helps build sense of a community
16. Daily Procedures and Routines Starting the day… Welcome each student to the classroom. Turn in assignments within the first minute of class. Once I begin class, it may be considered late. 17. Daily Procedures and Routines Ending the day… Review what we had done and how it pertains to the chapter/ lesson for the day Go over every upcoming assignment and/ or project within the next few weeks. Ask for any questions regarding these assignments. Remind students of tutorial times

I will tell them this the first day of class. I will also relay the message that without respect for myself and others, proper learning cannot take place. To help students respect me and each other, we will do community builders in the beginning week of class.
Because I believe a good teacher has almost everything ready for each day before a six week begins, I will be prepared. Preparing a seating chart for the first day can help a student get to know another classmate
