2. The Project Itself Students will first learn what change is such as pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. The students will first make a Know-Wonder-Learn Chart based on information they already know and then come up with their own individual knowledge. Students will then meet as a group and discuss what one another have recorded on their charts and agree on questions that are most important to them. Afterwards, students would research on the questions and ideas about change that they have so far and then they will create a poster with all of their facts that they have agreed are important. They would then fill in the rest of their Know Wonder Learn chart and proceed to present their charts and their complete project poster to the class. Why should students do projects? A project is an extended, in-depth investigation of a topic, ideally one worthy of the children's attention and energy. Project Based Learning is Project Based Learning is an instructional approach built upon authentic learning activities that engage student interest and motivation. These activities are designed to answer a question or solve a problem and generally reflect the types of learning and work people do in the everyday world outside the classroom.
