Session Objectives
• To engage educational developers* in the
creation of a Guide on developing an ED
(e)portfolio
• To create a positive sense of community and
ownership regarding the potential use of ED
(e)portfolios in our practice
• To engage Ed developers in thinking about
how to document and evidence their own
practice
* Educational developers, educational technologists, instructional design,
ePortfolios
• An e-portfolio is a digitized collection of
artifacts including demonstrations, resources,
and accomplishments that represent an
individual, group, or institution.
The ED Portfolio
“Educational developers’ roles are multiple and
complex and the means to measure their
success are often elusive.”
(Wright and Miller, 2000, p. 27)
An ED portfolio is used as an authentic tool to
articulate, reflect upon and evidence ED
practices, approaches and impact.

• Openly explore new ideas, be innovative, creative and have
fun
• Listen to each other and build upon other’s ideas
• Ask for clarification when needed
Our Role
• Ensure that we stay on time and keep the discussion
focused
• Ensure participation and help to create a relaxed,
collaborative atmosphere
• Ask for clarification and further reflection
The World Café
1. Collaboratively explore 3 questions
2. Rotate through café conversations (15
minutes each)
3. Record and build upon each others ideas
4. Open debrief to prioritize themes
