When you hear the word “curation” you probably think of some crusty old academic type, locked away in the basement archives of a university museum somewhere. With the global penetration of the internet we now digital reach & interact with people form all over the world. And each one of those people has an opinion, a megaphone and the ability to self publish at the swipe of a smartphone. Fueled by the democratization of the web, we now have too many amplified voices, squeaky wheels, whiners and nutjobs. So how to know what’s genuine and worth paying attention to, and what’s bona fide trash? Curation is the key! Learn about curated lists, curated people and developing your own curation skills.
Wikipedia: A curator (from Latin: cura meaning "care") is a manager or overseer. Traditionally, a curator or keeper of a cultural heritage institution (e.g., gallery, museum, library or archive) is a content specialist responsible for an institution's collections and involved with the interpretation of heritage material. The object of a traditional curator's concern necessarily involves tangible objects of some sort, whether it be inter alia artwork, collectibles, historic items or scientific collections. More recently, new kinds of curators are emerging: curators of digital data objects, and biocurators.

Members can feature their favorite items, items selected on a theme or whatever they like. Etsy's staff ("Admin") may promote whole or partial lists to the Handpicked Items featured on Etsy's home page. If you would like your list to be considered for the home page, here are some things to keep in mind: Be diverse! No more than one item per shop. Don't include your own items. Spread the love! Make it beautiful.

It goes out on my Twitter & Facebook feeds Of note, a “scoville” is the unit of heat measurement (SHU) that indicates how hot (or piquant) a chili pepper is. Scoville is HOT in my book
