Lodi’s Lowdown
Lodi’s Lowdown for the month of January was correctly answered by Nicholas Musashe, Wendy
Gorham and Steve Sutherland. The question was what type of airplane (pictured at right) was
the photographer in? The answer was a de Havilland Comet 4C. Thanks for answering!
The questions for February are:
Question #1: Our beautiful Winter visitor, N3006 is one of only 28 of
this model DC-3 built and the only known flying example left to our
knowledge in the world. Built in Santa Monica in December of 1945, she
was sold by Douglas in 1946 and has always been a private air-
craft! What model DC-3 is N3006?
BONUS QUESTION FOR NICHOLAS: N3006 has an Airesearch approved
flight manual revision which gives “full performance substantia-
tion.” What the heck does that mean?
