Hello Everyone. My name is Belinda Nichols and today we will be discussing how Social Media can be used to create new opportunities for Northwestern Technologies.
I will start by first defining Social Media and then giving you a brief history. We will talk about the current Social Media landscape and the benefits of using it effectively. In conclusion, I will summarize the presentation and take any questions you may have.
Social Media can be used for so much more than just a marketing tool. It provides you with opportunities to really connect with your customers, to better understand their needs and wants. It can be a valuable tool for internal company use as well. We will touch more on that subject in a moment.
Our history of Social Media begins in 1971 when the first email was delivered. As you can see, Social Media continues to grow with the popularity of social networking expanding every day. Today, Facebook alone has over one billion users. Twitter has over 200 million active users!
97% of the businesses surveyed in the 2013 Social Media Marketing Report said they used some form of Social Media for marketing. The top three most commonly used Social Media sites were Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn; followed by Blogging, YouTube and Google+.
Now to the important part, the benefits for Northwestern Technologies. Social Media is affordable, you don’t need a large marketing budget to use it effectively. Social Media will increase your brand recognition by getting your company’s name in the public eye. It will increase traffic to your business website which will in turn, increase your revenue. You will have a better connection to your customers because you will be able to respond to their needs and questions much easier and faster. Establishing a good relationship with customers increases loyalty and adds credibility to your business. There are several internal benefits to using Social Media as well, such as better communication. The use of internal message boards or chatting will allow employees from all parts of the business to respond to each other easier in a comfortable environment. Use of internal wikis or webinars will provide better information sharing and easier collaboration on projects. All of these things increase productivity because it is simply easier to get the job done.
In conclusion, Social Media is much more than a marketing tool. It can improve your business is many aspects and our marketing agency is here to make that happen for you. Thank you for listening to my presentation. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them at this time.
