This presentation provides an introduction to Ben Franklin Academy in Douglas County School District (Colorado, USA). Our mission is to develop young adults with character like America’s founding Renaissance man, Benjamin Franklin: well-read, scientifically curious, and civically engaged. To do this, we will focus on individual students by implementing flexible ability groups and by teaching the students and letting test scores follow. Our students will excel academically through a challenging, sequenced curriculum that emphasizes math, science, and literacy. We also recognize that an education is incomplete without fostering the arts, sports, nature, and character.
