This is a teaching session on how to understand and articulate the gospel with supporting Scriptures.

So in light of those positive, upbeat comments the title of my message today is simply this: “ Are you believing the gospel” Turn to Romans 1:15-16 This gospel needs to be preached to believers The gospel is the power of God - Why? Because in it is the righteousness of God The righteousness of God is the most right thing that God can do and that is to exalt, honor and bring praise to Himself Read Romans 3:21-26 - Pray

4. Purpose of God - His glory Predestination - Ephesians 1:3-14 Creation - Isaiah 43:7 Everyone who is called by My name, And whom I have created for My glory, Whom I have formed, even whom I have made." Incarnation - John 1:14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Consummation - Revelation 5:11-12 From eternity past to eternity future we see the God-centeredness of God in upholding and exalting His glory!

6. Sin is all pervasive - Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned-- Sin hardens and deceives - Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called "Today," so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. Sin enslaves a person - John 8:34 Jesus answered them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.

8. So how can a person who is rebellious against God, one who has thoughts that are wicked and actions when viewed from a heavenly perspective are morally repugnant, how can this person ever be accepted by this righteous and holy God? Job 9:2 - "In truth I know that this is so; But how can a (A)man be in the right before God? Job 25:4-6 - "How then can a man be just with God? Or how can he be clean who is born of woman? "If even the moon has no brightness And the stars are not pure in His sight, How much less man, that maggot, And the son of man, that worm!"

10. The only answer to this problem is Someone will have to satisfy justice for me and that Someone is Christ 1 Peter 2:24 - and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed. 2 Corinthians 5:21 - He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

11. Titus 3:3-7 - For we also once were foolish ourselves, disobedient, deceived, enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, spending our life in malice and envy, hateful, hating one another. 4But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared, 5He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit, 6whom He poured out upon us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
