1. Question 1. In what ways does your product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

2. Front Cover. Although the magazines are very different, they both include some of the same conventions.For example, they both have a main picture on the front cover. Which is usually the main article In the magazine. Also the magazines would both have a recognizable name, and will be printed the same every week, so it can be easily recognized. The advantage of this, is that when the magazines have frequent buyers, the buyers will know what they’re looking for. Another convention I have used which is similar to the real media products, is its offering free gifts, which mine is doing also. My magazine is offering a “Free Poster Special” this is too entice the readers by offering them free gifts. Top of the Pops, a popular and well known pop magazine. LOUD, my pop music magazine.

3. Contents Page The contents pages to these magazines are different, but contain some of the same conventions.They both contain pictures of the features within the magazine, to make it look relatively interesting. Although mine does contain text, Kerrang magazine contains a lot more text. I chose not to have a lot of text, because I wanted my magazine to be fun, and use as less text as possible. Another convention I’ve used which is similar to other magazines contents pages, is structure.My contents page has a specific structure, it has text down one side and pictures down the other. Which is good for the readers, as they’ll know what to expect, but on the other hand it may seem a little boring after a while.

4. Both double page articles include very similar conventions. They both have a big readable title, and a main picture. Also they both include grabbing questions to grab the readers, and a information about it to make it more interesting, and give the readers an opportunity to read more about the interview. All these conventions used in the article are important because, the articles are generally why the magazine is bought. So the article needs to be the best bit of the magazine. I think that I carried out the professional look well within my article. And I think I did really well, with this task. Double Page Article

5. To conclude.. Overall, although I didn’t actually challenge or develop any new conventions, I improved the ones I already knew how to do.I was able to develop my photo shop skill used through out all the pages. And I kept to a structure and the same theme the whole way through.
