Gazprom holds 83% of all Russian CNG filling stations. Besides Russia, Gazprom owns
and operates 14 CNG filling stations and one mobile LNG refueling unit in Europe. The
company is heading towards further expansion of its activities on the international
NGV markets beyond current presence in the Czech Republic and Germany. ‘Gazprom
export LLC’ – global exporter of Gazprom’s commodities – is investigating
opportunities to supply clean CNG and LNG, alone or in team with strong partners, to
existing and new markets.
OEM NGVs (locally built) are available from KAMAZ (trucks – multipurpose
chassis), NEFAZ and LIAZ (buses). Other manufacturers stated their intentions to begin
production soon.
Incentives (lower or none taxes, import duties) from the Governments are being
developed and have to be enforced before the end of 2013.
LNG is being tested on a gas-turbine locomotive. Russian Railways may order at least
40 LNG locos for the Urals and North Siberia regions.
