Digital technologies
                          in the classroom?
There is a new curriculum outside of school and that is the computer games
curriculum (Professor James Paul Gee) Sims single mother game modding
This disconnect between a student’s digital life and school matters
because students learn better when they are engaged, and research about
what engages them points to technology.
Media-rich learning is an ideal way for teachers to connect with today’s
                          pupils.
Students should be makers rather than consumers. As educators we must
become more than information experts; we must also be collaborators in
learning; leveraging the power of students, seeking new knowledge
                          alongside students

Our Students thoughts on using New technologies in the classroom

                          The Problem schools photocopy
in the classroom? 2,000,000 pages a year

Pencil, paper, lecture, textbook, and test are still very often the norm. Is it
any wonder that for digitally engaged students, school can become less
engaging, less interesting and less relevant?
In attempting to bring in new technologies to the classroom often
expensive technology is sold to us to perform single tasks. Money is
often wasted. Equipment goes out of date very quickly.
The amount of time it takes to get from finding a useful piece of software,
getting funds to pay for it through to getting it installed can be months.
By the time it is installed it is out of date.

Digital technologies
                          in the classroom?

              Zenna Atkins Chairman of Ofsted
Future is here now but just in patches
99.9% of students in school have a mobile phone. Vast majority of schools
              ban them. Lets use them.
Are we ready for the challenge?
We do not know as much students!
              Are you intimidated by technology?
Is this a reason not to use technology?
