CLIENT: Our Client is a highly successful, (profitable and low debt) well established (in business more than
10 years) Retail Chain of Pet Stores specializing in "Best of Class" Natural, Holistic Pet Foods,
Treats & Chews, Herbs, Pet Care Products, and Accessories. Operating multiple Locations
generating nearly $15 Million in Sales, this Regional Leader stocks 3,000 SKU's supported by it's
own 15,000 sq. ft. Distribution Center and recognized for excellent Customer Service,
Commitment to the Community and exceptional knowledge of Nutrition, Non-toxic/Hypoallergenic,
and Environmentally friendly Products sold by an educated, well trained Staff of Employees who
are passionate about Pets.
LOCATION: Texas
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting directly to the CEO, this position will be responsible for overseeing all Retail Store
Operations (more than 15 Locations) and Supporting Functions including the Distribution &
Warehouse Operations; maintaining and improving upon day-to-day activities including Inventory
Control, overseeing all New Store Openings, Transportation, Facilities Maintenance, Security,
Basic Human Resource Functions, Quality, Cost Control, Trade Show Participation, and
coordination with all other Departments within the Company. Responsible for Hands-on Training,
Leadership, Direction and Motivation to the Staff resulting in Outstanding Customer Satisfaction.
Direct reports will include the Human Resources Manager, District Manager and Warehouse
Manager with up to 60 Indirect Staff reports. Some travel involving Trade Shows, Supplier Visits,
and typical Field responsibility estimated at less than 20%.
PERSONALITY: A self-management personality, accustomed and comfortable with working in an entrepreneurial
environment within a family owned business. Must exhibit a strong work ethic, high energy level,
self confidence, and the ability to adapt to the rapidly changing, complex and diverse environment
of the Organization.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 5 to 10 years experience in Managing the Operations of Multi-Stores and Multi-
Geographic Locations in a Customer Service, Retail Store environment, (prefer Pet but will
consider other related Retail type Chains). Seeking an Executive with demonstrated P&L
responsibility, Inventory Management and running a Clean, Lean Operation effectively. Strong
focus on Employee Relations, People Skills, Customer satisfaction, Quality, Cost Control and
Systems Development. A verifiable track record of Professional growth, working all areas of
Operations Planning; (Forecasting, Sales, Staffing, Budgets, Layout) Inventory Control; Human
Resources: (Employee Relations, Hiring, Training, Mentoring and Motivation, and Development)
Facilities: (Maintenance, Housekeeping, Safety) and Transportation; working closely and in
cooperation with all other areas of supports possessing the ability to take the Company to the
next Level. College Degree is desired.
COMPENSATION: Competitive Base Salary (commensurate with experience) plus Potential Bonus. Benefits include:
