 The medal of Honor is the highest award for
  valor in action against an enemy force which can
  be bestowed upon an individual serving in the
  armed services of the United States.
 Three Guidelines:
1. While engaged in action against foreign enemy.
2. While engaged in military operations involving
    conflict with an opposing foreign force.
3. While serving with friendly forces engaged 9in
    armed conflict against opposing armed forces
    in which U.S. is not a belligerent party.
 Thiswas signed July 12, 1862 by president
 Lincoln.
 Cornelius   C. Smith
 Corporal
 U.S. Army
 He was awarded M.O.H. near the White River
  S. Dak, the first of January 1891
 Four men of his troop drove off a superior
  force of the enemy and held his position
  against their repeated efforts to capture
 Axel Sunqust
 Chief carpenter mate
 US Navy
 27th of July 1898 is when Sunqust earned his
  MOH
 To earn this he disabled 27 land mines
 Jesse Funk
 Private First Class
 US Army
 October 31, 1918 is when he earned his MOH
 Rescued two people 500 yards out past our
  friendly lines under heavy machine gun fire
 Peter Domato
 U.S. Marine Corps.
 Corporal
 He took his own life, jumping on top of a
  grenade to save two of his comrades. This
  happened in February of 1944.
 Ernest Dervishian
 Second lieutenant
 U.S. Army
 Received medal at Cisterna Italy, May 23rd
  1944.
 Single handedly forced 40 enemy men to
  surrender to him.
