1. Technology:
Collecting
During my ICT course this term, I have had the tremendous opportunity to learn about
many new and exciting technology tools. Along with the new information, I have begun
creating my own tech pieces! I created a Pecha Kucha presentation using a PowerPoint
template, a word cloud using Wordle, blogged on our ICT network NING about Kathy
Cassidy’s e-text and personal experiences with technology. Among these amazing
tools, I also created interactive teaching pieces to use in the classroom from the
websites Kahoot!, and Socrative. I am excited to have had this opportunity to learn
about these amazing websites and new technology additions for my future classroom.
Throughout my time in education, I will continue to build my technology portfolio and
knowledge.
Reflecting
My recent experiences with ICT have showed me that there are countless ways to
incorporate technology into the classroom. Kahoot! and Socrative have shown me
unique ways to involve the children in fun, engaging quizzes, tests, and new
information! I have never felt like blogging was something that I would ever aspire to do
but after discovering the joys of classroom blogs through Kathy Cassidy, I have never
been more excited! I hope to show my future students the joys of technology through
the use of engaging technology tools and interactive teaching methods.
Create
In the next few years, I hope to become more knowledgeable about creating blogs and
v-logs, and ideally create my own with my classroom. I have always thought sharing
ideas with others is a great tool for self-esteem as well as personal learning. I hope that
sharing my own experiences will be helpful for myself, as well as other teachers in my
neighbourhood and around the world! I have learned many new skills and ideas through
others’ blogs and have quickly learned that my fellow colleagues are my best resource!
Collaborating
Moving forward from my ICT course, I wish to collaborate with as many professionals as
I can. With the use of the online world it will be possible to connect with many teachers
around the world as well as right next door to share exciting new ideas and projects.
Before I am certified I hope to attend some informational PD’s about technology and its
many uses in the classroom to really add to my growing professional knowledge of
technology and it’s many uses in the classroom. I will be collecting and gathering

2. information through many online websites including Pinterest, Maple, and LinkedIn to
collect as much information about ICT as I can!
