Visit Marazion, Cornwall with Artists Cottage
Marazion lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), with the same status and protection as a National Park. Marazion has an active community of artists who produce and sell paintings and pottery in the town's numerous art galleries. St Michael's Mount is half-a-mile offshore from Marazion. At low water a causeway links it to the town and at high water passenger boats carry visitors between Marazion and St Michael's Mount. The cottage overlooks the coast and St. Michael's Mount. Windows capture ever changing seascapes, framing scenes of small boats drifting on water as smooth as glass, fishermen busily emptying lobster pots, surface ripples morphing into dazzling brilliance in the sunlight or winter's wild crashing Atlantic waves. Impassioned by the cottage's character and charm, famous artists painted here. The beach is only a short stroll away. Nearby the coastal path takes you to deserted sandy coves fringed with wild flowers, where seals loiter in the surf.
