JC073 Vital Statistics • Full science crew, 11 institutions (Denmark, Germany, Spain, UK, USA) • 5 sites visited • 181 activity stations • First visual surveys Hebrides Terrace Seamount (JNCC) • 41 ROV dives (25% Holland-1 dives to date) • Departure delayed 34 h (ROV not ready) • 15 h weather downtime • Issues with ROV mob/operation total 66 hours
Example of data collected • Aquatic Eddy Correlation (Karl Attard, Henrik Stahl, Ronnie Glud) • System measures high-frequency (up to 64Hz) 3-dimensional current velocity and O2 concentrations and integrates a large area of the seabed between 50-100 m2
O2 uptake rate increases by 1.5x following an increase in current velocity from 9 to 13 cm/s.
