In this sermon on Titus 1:1-4, Pastor Brent Small defines Paul’s apostleship by discovering two of three “ministry descriptions” that Paul applies to himself. Paul has ministered the gospel on the island of Crete. He has left Titus on the island to establish order in the churches in every city. In Paul’s letter to Titus, he assigns Titus the task of establishing sound doctrine and godly living in the churches that will demonstrate credible Christian testimonies. At the outset of his letter, Paul begins with his apostolic ministry. He begins by defining the character and purposes of his apostleship. In doing so, he lays down a foundation of authority for his message and also for Titus’ ministry amongst the churches. In addition, Paul outlines his purpose in the letter, which perfectly parallels the purpose of his calling. In this message, Pastor Brent attempts to discover the final two of three ministry descriptions that define Paul’s apostleship.
