To whom it may concern:
Anyone that has the foresight to hire Cher Lon Malik in their organization should be prepared for
someone who cares about her work team almost as much as she does her own family. This is a
unique characteristic that is hard to find.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with Cher Lon for almost two years during her tenure at AOL.
Most letters of recommendation include sentences like “she has excellent written and verbal
communication skills, is extremely organized, can work independently and is able to follow
through to ensure that the job gets done”. These sentences do not describe Cher Lon. That
would be way too basic for what Cher Lon brings to the table. I want to convey the fact that Cher
Lon goes way above and beyond the basics mentioned above.
Cher Lon will provide organization. I’ve been unorganized all of my life. I’m a typical seller-
The kind that just likes to sell. I don’t like to file and I don’t like to organize. Cher Lon performed
magic the day she entered my office after noticing my frustration as I searched for an important
document.
Cher Lon provides solutions. Instead of helping me “organize” they way I had been (which
clearly wasn’t working), she did something simple. She asked me a few questions about how I
was organizing my files? After answering a few basic questions, she simplified my challenge and
recommended a solution (that still works for me). I realize this might seem insignificant to you as
you read this letter, but the point is that she cares and she doesn’t just “solve problems”. She
thinks about solutions.
Cher Lon will go above and beyond the call of duty. Cher Lon stepped up to the plate when
we had a client meeting for one of our largest advertisers. I am certain that her job description did
not list “event planning” as one of the required skills. However, she pulled off a meeting with over
150 executives, 3 of which had never attended an AOL client event before. The attendee
feedback was so positive that other offices duplicated the format across the country.
Again I must reiterate what a strong candidate Cher Lon should be for the support position in
which you are advertising. I welcome any opportunity to discuss Cher Lon’s outstanding service
and skill sets and providing a professional reference at any time.
