2. Characteristics
A totalitarian government has total control
over every person and their actions. This
extreme form of rule is run by a dictator or in a
dictatorial way. A totalitarian leader should
have the state's goals in mind while leading.
Totalitarian governments always have their
military present.
3. Fascism
Belief in the constant competition of
races and nations, where the strong
will survive and the weak will be
dominated by the strong.
Fascism is when one party rules and
no opposition to the government. The
economy is collectively operative by
owners, workers, and the government
whereas in communism the
government is in complete control
over everything
4. -Describe Stalin's rule in at least four
sentences using the words, Great
Purge, Collectivization, Trotsky, and
Communism
5 year plans in the sentences (refer to
the video questions).
Stalin's goal was to consolidate
individual land, therefore
Collectivisation was enforced in the
Soviet Union.
Stalin's 5 year plan was to industrialize
entirely new cities.
Stalin lead the Great Purge, a series of
campaigns of persecution and political
repression.
Stalin was the cause of many death. He
had Trotsky murdered with an ice axe.
5. Hitler
The SS was originally acted as bodyguards to the Nazi
Party but later became Hitler's personal bodyguards.
Reichstag was a building that caught fire and was
blamed on the Communists, but it's obvious that they
were framed by the Nazis.
He attempted to march during the Beer Hall Putsch,
he was imprisoned for treason, there he wrote Mein
Kampf, "My Struggles."
Hitler had moved up in society to Chancellor, second
in charge, but Germany was in a state of emergency
and Hitler was granted full dictatorship, when he
became dictator is when Germany was in a real state
of emergency.
6. Reflection
I think living under a totalitarian government would be
horrible. We have many rights in america that we wouldn't
have under a totalitarian government. Being dictated all the
time would be frustrating.
Communism should just be the government having total
control, but some men with wrong ideas manipulated this
into totalitarianism.
