This is an evaluation of my magazine that I created for my Media AS coursework.

2. After studying other well-established magazines, it gave me inspirations for the creation and
production of my magazine

It also gave me ideas on
the layout of it. I got the
inspiration of where to

of the contents page. For

features on the left hand
side.

3. My magazine represents people in their late teenage years and young adults who are
into rock music.
The reason for this is because before the production process of my magazine, I
conducted a social survey in the form of a questionnaire where most of the respondents
were of that age range. Therefore my magazine is directed at them and it includes what
they look for in a music magazine.
The magazine would be aimed at people who like to go to rock festivals and such rock
festivals like Reading festival would be an appropriate event where we can establish the
magazine and sell it there as well.

4. The media institution that might distribute my magazine would be Music-
Mags as they are a well-established distribution company that specialises
in publishing music magazines.

5. The target audience of my
magazine would be young
people who are into rock
music. This is because the
music genre that the
magazine is built up upon is
Rock music.
Another reason for the
targeted audience to be
young people is because the
investigation behind the
creation of the magazine
was done through young
people. (The magazine).

6. Through the uses of a range of colours that are in conjunction to the theme of the magazine helps to

For the front page picture, we organised a photo-shoot with a set of
elements that would help make the rock vibe that we were trying to convey
be more transparent. This included having our model dressed up like a
female rock star. We got inspirations from looking at current female rock
artists. We also used a guitar as a prop to add the little bit of Rock &Roll
vibe that the photo-shoot needed.

7. The main aspects through the process of the construction
of my magazine that I have leant a lot from is through the
Photoshop software. Prior to the construction of my
magazine this software was alien to me. I did not know
how to used most (if not all) of the devises/ tools at my
disposal on this particular software.
Through the course if making my magazine I have learnt
the in’s and out’s of the software. I have also been able to
develop my understanding of how the software works.
A devise known as the lasso tool on Photoshop is one the
key aspects of the new skills that I have learnt/developed
through the construction of my magazine. It is a tool that
allow you to cut out sections of a picture. However due
to the temperamental nature of the tool, I struggled a bit
at the start, but through a lot of practice I managed to
somehow master it.

8. I have learnt a lot from the transition of the
