2. Work Experience
Clariant Oil Services.
I have spent the last three years doing technical work where
required, mainly the North Sea but also Canada, Gabon and the
Oman. I have summarized the main the roles I did for Clariant
below.
1) Senior Account Manager for Wytch Farm. I did the
transition from BP to Perenco over a two year period this
including supplying chemical for an intelligent pigging for
the MOL and monitoring its use and all other sales,
chemical applications and supply chain aspects.
2) Technical Business Development Manager Angola. This
included helping set up Clariant’s office in Angola. This has
included being involved with the costing to import chemical
into a warehouse. I was responsible for writing an
importation guide to Angola.
3) Technical sales in Indonesia and Nigeria.
4) I set up a small laboratory to do basic analysis in The Gulf
of Mexico.
5) Technical Specialist mainly in field trials and Bottle
Testing(I was a member of the demulsifier group for over
10 years) but I am strong technically in most production
chemistry applications
I have done various jobs mainly sales and technical roles in
production chemistry. I have extensive experience in product
application in the oil industry. I have also been involved in
tenders for projects like Bonga in West Africa. I have set up a
small laboratory in Lafayette to service our business. This
included training the technician.
I solve problems for the customers and the company. This can
have a long period from initial proposal to fruition, two or three
years in some cases.

3. Reports/Tenders
Part of my job has always been involved in submitting
customer reports. This has often been technical but
essentially is a sales aid. I have helped in several tenders the
most recent was a pre- qualification for Esso Angola which we
passed. I have reasonable knowledge of Microsoft Word and
Excel plus working knowledge of PowerPoint.
HSE Experience.
I passed the Managing Safely course approved by the
Institute of Occupational Safety and Health. I gained some
experience in risk assessment for Clariant. I have done COSH
assessment in the past particularly offshore.
I attended Auditing to ISO 9001:2000 with BSI learning and
have performed auditing for Clariant.
I have done COSH assessment and am familiar with Sevron.
IT Experience.
I have been responsible for specifying two databases for
Clariant. I set up a computer plus programs for reports and
accounts for Petrolite (Baker) in Nigeria. I have good internet
search abilities which I use for technical applications for my
current job.
Technical Experience in Oil Industry.

4) Selection and application of deoilers (water clarifiers).
5) Application and optimisation of corrosion inhibitors.
6) Selection and application of oil slick dispersants.

9) Application of scale dissolvers.
10) Selection and application of biocides.

16) I am familiar with most laboratory tests in an oil field
