This document discusses RDT's Green Map Project, which aims to promote environmental literacy and engagement with local communities through mapping and the arts. The project involves creating maps of neighborhoods using standardized icons to identify sustainable resources like parks, public transit, and recycling centers. Students participate in map-making through residencies that combine arts education, movement classes, and learning about the local natural and built environment. Their maps and a performance celebrating the local area are meant to reinforce sustainable living and discovery of place. The goal is to activate learning about sustainability through artistic expression of the resources in a community.
