2. How are we addressing the
problem?
> We aim to make the bins look > The rewards are added to the
appealing and stand out. student’s RMIT Student Card.
> Install less, but bigger bins. > Rewards are then used for
public transport.
> Implement a colour coded
recycling system much like
the GRO system that is used in
many Melbourne communities.
> Impliment a user reward
system (ERIC).
> Install a rubbish scanning
program which scans the
rubbish items that have been
thrown away, and calculates it’s
value.

4. Sam reads posters, realises
by recycling at RMIT he can
earn money that can be
used with his Myki for his
daily public transport use.

5. Sam goes to the rubbish
bins which are colour coded
and shaped like the items
they represent.

banana in the compost
recycling bin shaped like a
large half eaten apple.

7. Sam’s Current Balance goes
up as he throws away rotten
banana.

8. As Sam doesn’t get any
rewards for throwing
away things that can’t
be recycled, his current
balance stays the same.

9. Sam transfers his rewards
to his myki and travels
home feeling that he has
made the world that little
bit better.
