4. Polythene Bags are non-biodegradable, so their decomposition process is very long. As a result they cause soil pollution. On burning of plastic bags, lot of pollution caused. As a result various natural cycles get adversely effected. Polythene bags are very harmful for animals & for aquatic life. We felt: Introduction•Bharti Foundation–Philanthropic arm of Bharti Group Companies.–Set up to help underprivileged children and young people of our country realize their potential.•Satya Bharti School Program–Flagship program of Bharti Foundation.–It aims to deliver free quality education to underprivileged children, with special focus on the girl child across rural India.–Goal to establish 500 Primary and 50 Senior Schools reaching outto over 200,000 students•Present Operational Status–Number of Schools Operational:236–States of Operation:Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh & Tamil Nadu–Number of Students Enrolled:29,000+ In Tehna Dipalpur village, use of polythene bags is heavy. Everywhere polythene bags are scattered. As village is on state highway, animals always roaming on the side way of the road, they also eat these polythene. And some time these polythene bags are responsible for their death.
5. We imagined that our village area & surrounding get rid of these polythene bags and from its deadly impact. No plastic bags will be used by any community members for any use. Shopkeepers also stop using polythene bags as carry bags for sale of materials. No pollution due to polythene bags in the village. Parents of the students felt very happy when they saw their children were too much aware of these type of community issue. And more happy when these children started counseling their parents/ Guardians.
