Toby Amies in Laos
Toby wrote an article describing his trip. Fill in
the spaces. Some spaces need more than one
word.
Looking for an adventure with a difference, I set off on
the _____ journey to Laos. Probably not the first place
you'd think of for an activity break, Laos is building its reputation for adventure holidays
with truly stunning scenery.
I made the long journey to the north of the country, where the activities include ______ _____,
kayaking, _______, trekking and tubing.
Making the most of the rain (even though it's the dry season) I first tested a two-man Kayak.
After all that hard _____, I was delighted to paddle past an organic mulberry farm offering
“smoothies” and other mulberry treats for tired adventurers.
Refreshed and ready to go, I hit the water again - but this time for a spot of "tubing". This
tranquil, if slightly odd sounding, pastime involves ______ ____ ______ while sitting on an
inflatable tube.
Deciding to give the pub a miss for once, I swapped the river for Laos's extraordinary caves. I
climbed through Tham None, known locally as the '"Sleeping Cave", the _______ ____ in
Laos, where up to 1000 locals took refuge from the bombing during the Vietnam and Second
World Wars. I found the caves ______ and claustrophobic but the experience was certainly a
rewarding one.
Full of surprises, a trip to Laos has a huge amount to offer the adventurous traveller. And best
of all, at the end of the day you can kick back and enjoy some of the _____ _____ _____ in the
