This is a slideshare that explains what Pets at Home is. Kohlberg Kravis Roberts bought them in 2010, which helped them create their green initiative. Since then they have reduced their carbon footprint and are continuing to do so.
2. What is it?
Pets At Home is a pet store retailer in the
UK similar to PetCo or Pet Smart in the US.
They have tons of pet supplies, pet food,
toys, and accessories for pet owners and
their pets.
Like many pet stores, they have all kinds
of animals to adopt, from dogs and cats,
to hamsters and birds.
3. They Match Pets to People
Pets at home offers help finding the right
pet for you.
Instead of letting you pick one out
yourselves, they give you information,
advice, etc. on all of the different pets
you are choosing from so that you can
make the correct choice.
You can chose between specifically bred
animals or rescue pets.
4. The Future of Pets at Home
Petsat Home has had a lot of good press
in the UK news. Due to this, Kohlberg
Kravis Roberts recently invested £955m in
the pet supply company in 2010.
5. Green Portfolio
After KKR invested in Pets at Home, the
company started managing their green
portfolio.
They did this was by measuring and
managing energy consumption in their
stores and distribution centers.
As of now, efficiently has improved by 19%
(GHDs/square feet) at its distribution
centers and 10% at their stores.
