Dickies, the internationally renowned workwear brand, have joined forces with Tog Studio who host live-build projects, by sponsoring workwear for their 2014 summer school.

2. Dickies, the internationally renowned workwear brand, have joined
forces with Tog Studio who host live-build projects which teach
practical construction skills, by donating safety workwear.

3. The enterprise has gone from
strength to strength and Tog Studio
built a community Boathouse last
June. The success of this event
means that Tog Studio have been
invited back to the Isle of Tiree to
build Phase 2 of the Boathouse this
summer and the project is going to
be scaled up to give more
participants the chance to attend this
more challenging build.
Tog Studio run live-build summer
schools for students who want to
learn practical construction skills. In
June 2014 Tog Studio will run a
summer school where a team of
architects, engineers, students and
self-build enthusiasts will build a
community Boathouse.

4. Micheal Holliday, architect and director at Tog Studio said: "We hope to build the
Boathouse in one week on a remote Scottish Island with inexperienced
students. This means it is necessary for us to pre-fabricate the structure in Glasgow
before setting sail to Tiree.
“Once on site we will be joined by the full compliment of twenty participants when
the real work will start. Although it's a 'summer school' the weather on Scottish
Islands is notoriously changeable and this can be demanding on participants who are
not used to manual work outdoors. So having the right equipment is
essential. We're extremely grateful to Dickies for supporting our event by supplying
the hard hats, rigger boots and branded high-vis vests which will keep us safe."
