About the project…
Our goal in this project is to develop a technology
that will allow the production line to be automated
by clean energy and technology so that our
product will be truly 'green'. The idea is to Orapin
produce bio-gas from the strawboard chips and Sinamornvej
leftovers to fuel the heater (gasifier) for board
production. We require a 60 x 60 cm model
gasifier heater for a cleaner production line. The
use of the gasifier will lower the cost of
investment by reducing our dependence on the
electricity grid, and also reduce our carbon KranKantachote
footprint.

Vision
Through the E-idea project in collaboration
with Kokoboard company, we are taking
steps towards developing a technology that
produces particle boards from agricultural
by-products or waste such as rice straw,
giving it a new added-value. This not only
helps reduce carbon dioxide and
deforestation, but it also gives a secondary
income to rice farmers, addressing the two
issues of environmental protection and
economic benefit.

8. WHAT IS GASIFICATION?
Gasification converts any carbon-containing material into a synthesis
gas (syngas). The syngas is a combustible gas mixture, sometimes
known as ‘producer gas’, typically contains carbon monoxide,
hydrogen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide and methane.

9. A gasifier differs
from a combustor
A gasifier differs from a combustor in that the
amount of air or oxygen available inside the
gasifier is carefully controlled so that only a
relatively small portion of the fuel burns
completely. This "partial oxidation" process
provides the heat. Rather than burning, most of
the carbon-containing feedstock is chemically
broken apart by the gasifier's heat and
pressure, setting into motion chemical reactions
that produce "syngas." Syngas is primarily
hydrogen and carbon monoxide, but can include
other gaseous constituents; the composition of
which can vary depending upon the conditions
in the gasifier and the type of feedstock.
