1. CDM Methodology Workshop on Gas Flaring

While gas flaring contributes about 400 million tons of CO2e in annual GHG emissions, to date only six
gas flaring CDM projects have been registered out of almost 1200. This workshop looks at the
methodological issues and challenges to increase the contribution of CDM for gas flaring reductions
in these areas:
Gas capture and marketing

Alternative uses of gas

Gas re-injection

A. Introduction to Gas Flaring and CDM (World Bank/GGFR, 15 min)
B. Gas Flaring within a Sustainable Development Perspective (Thomas Eid, 15 min)
C. Methodology and Gas Capture (2.5 hours)
