The document discusses the Russian National Contact Point on food, agriculture, fisheries, forestry and biotechnology (Bio-NCP of Russia). It provides an overview of the Bio-NCP of Russia, which was established in 2003 to promote Russian science integration into the European Research Area. The Bio-NCP of Russia aims to increase Russian participation in the European Commission's Framework Programme 7 on bio priorities. It also works to structure the Russian research and development community and increase capacity building. The document outlines Russian national priorities in science and technology areas and discusses European technology platforms and how they relate to the formation of Russian technology platforms. It provides examples of projects with Russian participation in FP6 and FP7 on topics relevant to environmental protection

ENERGY: EU-Russia Coordinated Calls
Enhancing strategic international cooperation with
Russia in the field of power generation from biomass
Content/scope: Research and technology development in the
field of power generation from biomass. The co-operation activity
should be based on an assessment of ongoing research, the
identification of best practices, gaps in knowledge and barriers to
implementation in both, the EU and Russia, and propose
direction for a collaborative research project in the area.
Funding scheme: Collaborative Project (the project duration is
normally 3 years)
Expected impact: Effective cooperation between key
researchers and industries in the field of power generation from
biomass should foster the development and uptake of innovative
methods and technologies to expand the use of biomass in
power generation.
